Time to introduce a new post series!
It's happened to all of us. You're watching late night or saturday morning tv, or you pick up one of those dollar DVDs at the supermarket on a whim and you stumble across something amazing... amazingly BAD! And you can't look away. That's what this ongoinging series of posts is about: Celebrating the best of the worst!
One of the most notorious genres for bad movies is kung-fu movies. I have a few favorite bad kung-fu movies, but today I want to share one of my favorites: the Ninja Death trilogy.
(Ninja Death 2 and 3 start with the same intro sequence)
It's a trilogy of bad, adorned with an incredibly pointless storyline, and crowned with atrocious dubbed voice acting. These movies follow the story of Tiger, a chinese boy raised and taught kung-fu by a beggar. Turns out the beggar is actually Tiger's uncle, and Tiger is the son of a japanese princess and a ninja who were killed for defying the Grand Master, a dude in a gold lame jumpsuit. Plot for revenge insues, yadda yadda, et cetera, et cetera. There's a kinda busted looking love interest, a guy with a lovely teased ponytail named Fujiko(?!), the pimpin' villian in a gold lame jumpsuit, and so many bad special effects it'll make your head spin! A good series for parties; have your own Mystery Science Theater 3000 riff-a-thon!
Well, don't just sit there, go ahead, enjoy! Or, curse me for stealing hours from your life with this series. Whichever works for you.
