Lolita 52 Challenge: #48. Parasols: Vital or frivolous?

48. Parasols: Vital or frivolous?
Vital in their frivolity! Lolita IS frivolous even in its most basic forms.  If it wasn't frivolous it wouldn't be lolita! I'm a "more is more" person. If you like parasols, get one! You can never be too matchy-matchy.

Lolita 52 Challenge: #7. My favorite lolita brand

7. My favorite Lolita brand  Baby, the Stars Shine Bright.  I love AP and Meta and Innocent World and all the rest too, but Baby will always form the backbone of my wardrobe.  The other day I counted my dresses to see which brand was more prevalent.  I thought it would be AP, since my closet looks like it's vomiting pastel right now but surprisingly, tucked and stuffed between the AP fluff were my Baby dresses. And there were way more than I thought! Baby gives me the lolita feeling more than any other brand.  Angelic Pretty is fun and flashy, Innocent World is serene and soft, Meta is... Well Meta is Meta!  But Baby embodies what I became a lolita for in the first place: Exquisite details, lush lace, and the little things.  It's a certain placement of a bow, or the subtle curve of the heel that turns an ordinary mary jane into a work of art, and the iconic features that make a Baby piece instantly recognizable just by the lace used.   In short, I LOVE BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT!

Lolita 52 Challenge: #51: My favorite lolita print

I have to play a little catchup! Here's this weeks lolita 52 Challenge! 51. My favorite lolita print  AaTP Hymn Print.  It was one of the first in what has now become AaTP's moneymaker print style and imo, none have topped it yet. Owning this print is probably the reason I never felt compelled to buy another Aatp print. It satisfies me in every way <3

My First meetup was at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Sakura Matsuri in 2008. I wore a hideous skirt of my own making(it was made out of that once popular gingham and strawberries border print fabric that everyone used to make their first skirts/dresses). The print wasn't bad, it was just that the skirt I made was just mega frumpy and bleh. I was SO nervous, but as soon as I got there, a sweet adorable angel reached out to me and started chatting with me like it was no big deal. That angel was Dalin of Magic ala Mode, and she's been my best friend ever since! My first meetup experience was a good one, and it definitely set the tone for the rest of my lolita life. But thank god I don't have photos of my coord from that day anymore!!

Natural Kei

Let's talk about a style that's been setting my heart a-flutter... Natural Kei.

The best description of what Natural Kei is all about is from my dear friend Martha's blog Moss Garden. She wrote a great article called What Is Natural Kei that really explains the style wonderfully. Check out her blog, it's a natural wonderland!

Since she's explained it so well, let's just look at some of my favorite Natural Kei photos!

Here are some coordinates from the Pink House website:

I love PoupeeGirl...

I love PoupeeGirl, probably more than I should since it's such a waste of time! Hours can be sucked away surfing the market for deals or just dressing my girl up over and over and over... But I can't help it, I love it! It's a really fun way to "wear" different styles that might not normally suit you, and get your shopping fix without breaking the bank!

Here are some of my favorite outfits I've dressed her in:
